Newly Announced Fuji X-T3 Looks Amazing: Here's Why I'm Sticking with X-T2 For Now

So the long-awaited Fuji X-T3 was just officially announced this past week, and I've been lapping up all the rumors leading up to this just like everyone else.  And, truth be told, it looks pretty amazing!  (Assuming you're comfortable with the IQ you get from the APS-C sized sensor, which should be good enough unless you're really needing to do larger physical prints).

Faster processor, faster AF, more FPS, more resolution, new sensor...it's a long list.

That said, below are 4 reasons why I'm sticking with my trusty X-T2 (for now)

  1.  I already have the X-T2, and I will lose at least a few $100 trading in for the new model
  2. Most of my favorite lenses are currently vintage and/or manual focus, so some of the most compelling new features won't benefit me.
  3. Fuji has a great track record, better than much of the competition, of supporting their older models with firmware updates.  (My camera is currently on firmware update v4.20) My expectation is that some of the new X-T3 features will make their way into the X-T2 at some point via one last major firmware update.
  4. My X-T2 is still pretty awesome :)

So, are you getting the new X-T3? Or are you sticking with what you have, and if so, why? These days, there are so many great camera options out there that there aren't really any (or many) wrong answers!
